IT was with a great degree of embarrassment that I as sented to the various invitations extended to me, to place upon record the recollections of my youth, and group the incidents for a history of that tragic event, generally known as the Spirit Lake Massacre, which so far had gone unwritten, and, no progress made in that direction.
