Description
Excerpt from Willard Genealogy: Sequel to Willard Memoir
He wrote very fully and entered into many details, making a book which will always be a treasure to the descendants and to the general students Of Colonial History.
The present work, though a sequel to the Memoir, has been constructed upon a different scale; it aims to give a view Of the family at large, keeping in due proportion the several branches and individuals Of the family, in the common fashion Of approved genealogies. It has been necessary to condense and even to omit much that has been found in order to bring the work into the limits Of a Single volume; but every effort has been made to give the best items and in the fairest manner, so as to make the work a delight and pride to the greatest number. It is much larger than we estimated.
Several esteemed families are omitted because the connection Of their lines with the stock Of Simon and George could not be substantiated; and many individual records are impossible to place. These are given in the Appendix.
