Description
I could now, with ease, get poems, 53 la Mac Pherson''s Ossianic poetry, written out by certain Highland gentlemen, founded on heroic ballads. Most publishers would demur to publishing any more Ossianic poetry, however. Campbell of Islay valued true translation of the Gaelic Tales and Poems, collected by Mr. Peter Dewar, and done into English by Mr. Hector Maclean, more than volumes of Macpherson, and so would most, if not all, Gaelic scholars.
