Ist es ja klar, dass nimmer ein Abschluss erreicht werden kann, wo der Forscher die Parteistellung, der er im Leben angehören muss zu seinen Untersuchungen hinübernimmt; alles was er auf Kosten der Wahrheit dem Interesse seiner Gesinnungsgenossen dar bringt, mit von gegnerischer Seite gleich stark gefärbte Erwiderungen hervor, und ungeschminkte Angaben werden dann vorzugsweise ver dächtigt. So wird die Forschung eine Danaidenarbeit, die keinem nützt.
