Description
Joseph Jacob Plenck taught in Vienna and wrote textbooks on nearly everything: surgery, obstetrics, dermatology, materia medica. His toxicology did for poisons what his other books did for their fields — imposed order where there had been anecdote, classifying substances by origin and effect and setting out what was known of antidotes. Much of the pharmacology is superseded and some of the antidotes are useless, but the arrangement itself was the contribution, and forensic toxicology grew from books like this one. This is the Spanish edition of 1794.
