'The Travel Photographers Journal is one of those things that you don't know you've been missing until you get it. I used to be a professional photographer, and always kept a log of my work. But after changing careers and going on various holidays I ended up with a bag of photos, and later a computer full of various photos. Some were good - most weren't.
A good journal like this one has space for your best pics. It's not a teaching aid, but a doing aid. There are some quick tips, a To Do list, a bucket list and a really handy travel app guide, covering useful apps like Sun seeker and Bolt - which are the travel photographers best friend. These cover only a few pages before it gets into the rest of the journal: which you have to fill in with your work.
There are daily adventure logs asking you to record what you did (handy, as no one remembers everything) and weekly challenges for taking a specific shot or using a style - all the time reminding you to record the camera information. All digital pictures will have this info in the metadata but it's an important function as a photographer to keep notes. Especially if you're going retro and shooting with chemical film.
Overall it's a very handy journal to carry with you when travelling. If it's something you consider doing seriously, or just for your own enjoyment, this is the best guide I've seen to help you get into the habit of keeping records. Not only will it remind you of what you've done, but it will give you a structure to work with and help you take better photos.
