Description
Excerpt from The Prescriber: A Dictionary of the New Therapeutics
I must ask my readers to be kind enough to read with care those portions of my Preface to the Third Edition, which I shall quote below, in order that they may under stand clearly my aim. When I commenced to practice Homoeopathy, now more than twenty years ago, there was no pocket companion of the kind; and the text books on homoeopathic therapeutics gave little help in matter of attenuation, dose and how often to repeat-the very points most wanted by a novice. One of my objects in writing this book was to supply these details.
But the last thing I desire is to be dogmatic - except in in so far as dogmatism can help a beginner. And as many homeopathists, who are anything but beginners, have been good enough to say they have found the prescriber useful, I wish it to be understood that my directions as to dose, etc., are not intended to supersede the teachings of individual experience.
