Description

Bible-readers and jam-makers often adopt similar methods. Despite the apparent difference in the two occupations, the inclination is to store the fruits of their labours in neatly sealed units. Maybe this is a wise decision when it comes to exploring the richness of the Bible.

What David does in these pages is invite us to don a new pair of 'tri-focals' to see with excitement that no one text can be studied in isolation. No one angle, neither time, place nor people, will provide a definite interpretation, but all three combine to give us a high definition insight.

David Hamshire has worked in the Royal Air Force as an aircraft electrical technician, then for ten years as a photo-copier engineer. David then worked for seven years with Open Doors with Brother Andrew, taking bibles into countries which were opposed to the Christian message.

Later, before retirement, David worked in financial services. David and his wife Janet have been married for more than fifty years and they have two daughters and five grandchildren.
