Description
David Graham Phillips (1867-1911) was an American muckraker journalist and novelist, best known for producing one of the most important investigations exposing details of the corruption of the Senate by big business, in particular, the Standard Oil Company. Phillips was shot to death in 1911 by a musician who thought that Phillips' novel The Fashionable Adventures of Joshua Craig had cast literary aspersions on his family.
