Description
Evelyn Raymond (1843-1910) wrote dozens of novels for young readers, and The Heroine of Roseland is one of her liveliest: Gail Graham, left to keep a household and a greenhouse afloat, goes into business for herself and holds her own. First published by the Penn Publishing Company of Philadelphia in 1907, the book carries a frontispiece and eight plates by Nina E. Allender — later famous as the cartoonist of the American suffrage movement.
