Bard Owl Books creator, Chris (Cee) Grimes, spent over a decade as a medical massage therapist and wellness coach to her clients but has been involved in the health and wellness field since earning her BFA in 2007. Before her evidence-based training in massage therapy, she worked as a mental health worker for the Portland Hotel Society, whose mission and philosophy was in part, guided by physician and author, Gabor Mate, now famous in the wellness field for his unique, compassionate approach to working with this underserved community and insights into chronic illness and mental health. She has studied Vipassana meditation, buddhism, and yoga since 2005.
