Since 1751, the manuscript has been preserved with great care, by a gentleman who lived to a very advanced age, and died some time since On the event of his death a friend to whom he had presented it, gavel itto the present Editor, who, conceiving that so valuable a piece of antiquity should not be lost to men of literature, and biblical students, has committed it to the press, not doubting but that the attention of the learned will be attracted to so singular a volume.
