Description
Excerpt from The Anatomy of the Nasal Cavity and Its Accessory Sinuses: An Atlas for Practitioners and Students
Frontal sections - as in Plates IX., X., XI., and XII. - show how narrow and thin the roof of the nose is, end at the same time bring out clearly its relation to the cranial cavity. Plates II. And III. Show, in sagittal section, the curved shape of the roof of the nose, the anterior ascending portion, the middle horizontal, and the posterior descending.
The outer wall of the nasal cavity is the most important and at the same time the most complicated. It is formed by the superior maxilla, the vertical portion of the palate bone, and the internal pterygoid plate.
