Excerpt from Surrey Archaeological Collections, Vol. 39
Publications - Volume XXXVIII, Part I., Of the Collections has appeared during the year, and Part II. Is now in preparation. The book on Surrey Stained Glass by the late Dr. A. V. Peatling has been fully revised and is now in the press.
Museum and library. - The Council desires to express its thanks to Lord Ashcombe for his generous gift of Old prints; to Mr. Henry Curtis for maps; to Mr. Mill Stephenson and Mrs. W. Welch for numerous additions to the Library.
Owing to the generous response to Lord Onslow''s appeal at last year''s Annual General Meeting for subscriptions toward a Purchase of Deeds Fund, the Council was able at once to secure a large collection of Deeds mostly relating to Witley and Godalming. Another collection relating to the property of Sir Robert Clayton, Lord Mayor of London c. 1680, was also purchased. Two other smaller collections were also bought.
