Description
This is the story of Siri, a little caterpillar who felt crooked in a world of straight lines.
But Life in the Flower Meadow is not really just about insects. It is a reflection of us all. Many of us have felt the lonely sensation of being different, of wanting to walk a path that no one else can see, or of being called a 'misfit' by those who stay safely on the ground.
As an artist and writer, I have walked many paths myself—sometimes in darkness, often in doubt. This book is an attempt to remind us that our differences are not flaws, but gifts. That the one who feels like a 'green stick' today might just be carrying the wings of a butterfly tomorrow.
The story is also about Berit—about jealousy, about being hurt, and about the grand miracle that occurs when we still choose to rescue the one we have wounded, or the one who has wounded us. It is a story of grace; a reminder that we are all part of the very same meadow, even if we eventually fly in different directions.
My hope is that this little book can offer comfort to anyone who feels alone, and remind those who have found their wings that they are never abandoned. For within God’s great creation, there is room for both the bully-beetle and the butterfly—and perhaps it is in the very meeting between them that we learn the most about one another.
