The sun was on the right lighting up the Customs House, the statues around it, the sun was red in the windows of the brick Railroad Building. He walked right to the sun. He said to himself: I want to be in the sun for just a moment. He became ashamed of the thought, said: I don''t want sunlight at all. All I want is the subway station, and it''s there where the sunlight is. I am going to the subway station and not to the sun.
