His deep interest in a fifteenth century manuscript entitled Vitruvii de Architectura Libri Decem led to the eventual publication of his book Observations on Vitruvii de Architecturea Libri Decem: With Special Regard to the Time At Which This Work Was Written which is the summary of his life's work and dedication to this ancient document. Of particular note, this edition is actually a translation from the first printing in Danish, painstakingly revised by Ussing himself who wanted to widen the reach of this important work.
