Description
Excerpt from Novena to the Holy Spirit: With Prayers From the Missal and Short Reflections
The Holy Spirit is the Third Person of the Blessed Trinity. The First Person is God the Father, the Creator of the world. The Sec ond Person is God the Son, the Word of God made ?esh. The Third Person, the Holy Spirit, is the Love that binds God the Father to His Son, Jesus Christ.
Human love, as we know, is one of the strongest of our powers. Possessing it, we are enabled to do what would otherwise be impossible. Love moves us even to heroic acts. When our love is lifted to the power of Jesus Christ through the Holy Spirit, Whom Our Lord sends to us, then we begin to understand that for the life of goodness and greatness, here and hereafter, the Holy Spirit is the moving, Power. He is, we might say, the engine, by which all our thoughts, words and deeds are turned to God and en abled to do God''s work.
