But it would be ungracious not to mention the authors of the three 1 previous biographies of Barbara Villiers the complete and careful Memoir by Mr. G. S. Steinman, privately printed in 1871, with Addenda in 1874 and 1878; the attractive sketch in Mr. Allan Fea''s Some Beauties if the Seventeenth Century and the wholly admirable article by Mr. Thomas Seccombe in the Dictionary of National Biography.
