Description
Archaeological investigations were carried out between 2020 and 2021 along the Viking Link Interconnector cable scheme in south-east Lincolnshire. The Interconnector route traversed three distinct landscapes – the Lincolnshire Marsh, the Lincolnshire Wolds and the northern Fens – on its 67 km course between landfall on the North Sea coast near Mablethorpe and its terminal at an electricity substation at Bicker Fen. The project offered the opportunity to explore the archaeology of a part of the country that has seen few excavations of a similar scale.
This volume contains more detailed accounts of the most significant of the excavated sites, and presents the results of the specialist analyses of the human remains and the artefactual and environmental data.
