The travellers' name was Prender gast. They had evidently not intended to make a stay in Ross-shire, having brought little with them, but in a few days a considerable addition to their bag gage arrived. The old man seemed to be something of a naturalist. He wan dered about the moors with a green tin-box kind of knapsack on his back, but he said little about his captures.
