Being the youngest Of a large family Of children, it has been my privilege to enjoy association with an unusually large num ber of nephews, nieces, grand nephews and grand nieces, even to the third generation, and to watch, with pride and pleasure, the development of certain hereditary characteristics which have seemed to me to have directly and positively descended from our Hewes ancestry.
