Description

Excerpt from Liber Eliensis, Vol. 1: Ad Fidem Codicum Variorum

Wharton says (anglia Sacra, vol. I. Pref. That the first and the second book, the Translation and the Miracles, were written by Thomas; the third book by Richard, who was prior from 1177 to 1195. It is pretty clear that Mr. Wharton had never read the whole of the work he was writing about, for it is 111 the third book (c. 57) that Thomas expressly states himself to be the author.
