Les scribes ne com prenaient souvent pas ce qu''ils copiaient et des volumens destinés d l''ombre éter nelle des hypogées, sans crainte d''un contrôle ultérieur, ne pouvaient pas étre traités avec un grand soin de détail; ceux qui se vendaient le plus cher étaient ceux qui frappaient l''oeil par une plus grande richesse de vignettes, mais leur texte n''en était pas plus pur. Je sais par expérience le peu de lumière qu''il y a à tirer de la collation des papyrus on n''y recueille guère que des erreurs, en va riante d''autres erreurs.
