The intention of the author is, a plain and unvarnished account of events, in which, with ample materials, considerable personal knowledge, from a service of over three years, and intimate acquaintance with military men, he has studiously endeavored to render ample justice to every one, and abide by facts. He believes the work will be interesting, especially to those who have served their country in the field Three Years or the War!
