Description
Welcome to the wonderfully fluffy (and slightly chaotic) world of InaMiGurumi.
Twelve months. Twelve chenille friends.
One unexpected dragon.
And absolutely no boring crochet basics.
InaMiGurumi is for crocheters who already know their way around a hook and want to make something with a little more personality.
Big ears, tiny paws, fluffy tails, questionable attitudes – these aren't just twelve variations of the same basic amigurumi. Each character was designed individually, with its own shape, details and personality.
Because honestly? Half the fun of amigurumi is watching a pile of yarn slowly turn into someone.
Meet the gang:
January – Monty the Penguin
February – Mila the Bunny
March – Cloudy the Lamb
April – Dion the Duck
May – Hermes the Foal
June – Ravi the Tiger
July – Yuma the Lion
August – Cherry the Squirrel
September – Caruso the Mouse
October – Clay the Bernese Mountain Dog
November – Emerson the Otter
December – Minx the Cat
And because apparently twelve animals weren't enough, there's also Dream – a little dragon with his very own bonus pattern. He may or may not have written parts of it himself. I'll let you decide.
So, what's actually inside?
- 12 original chenille amigurumi crochet patterns
- 1 bonus dragon pattern
- Clear, detailed step-by-step instructions
- Plenty of photos to help you along the way
- Projects with different levels of difficulty
- Beautifully designed monthly pages and illustrations
- Little stories, silly comments and unexpected extras between the patterns
- A book made for people who enjoy the project just as much as the finished plushie
One important thing before you grab your hook:
This is not a learn-to-crochet book. You should already be familiar with basic crochet stitches and techniques.
You absolutely don't need to be an amigurumi expert, though. The instructions are detailed, the tricky bits are shown in photos, and I'll be right there on the page whenever things get slightly questionable.
Every animal in this book was designed by me from scratch.
There is no publishing team hiding behind InaMiGurumi. No collection of generic patterns bought and put together for a book.
It's me.
A crochet hook.
An unreasonable amount of chenille yarn.
A lot of frogging.
Far too much coffee.
And the firm belief that the face is still not quite right until I've changed it for the seventh time.
That's why these patterns have details.
I love expressive faces, unusual shapes and those tiny finishing touches that suddenly turn an amigurumi from “that's cute” into “OH NO, I LOVE HIM.”
If that's the kind of crochet you love too, I think you'll feel right at home here.
So pick your first character, find your fluffiest yarn and grab your hook.
Let's make something ridiculously cute.
