Description
The county surveys commissioned by the young Board of Agriculture are foundation stones of British agrarian history. Colonel William Fullarton (1754-1808) reports on Ayrshire : soils, rotations, cattle, improvements and obstacles, with the candour of a practising improver. The large folding statistical table of the county is reproduced at full page. This is a faithful print-on-demand facsimile of the 1793 Edinburgh edition, reproduced in full from a library copy. The historical text is reproduced without modification; only the format, margins and legibility have been reset for modern printing.
