The Revised Edition has been carefully compiled from family and Bible records, wills, deeds, settlements, sale bills, inventories, tax records, U. S. Census records 1790, and in some instances 1800, pension records, land (pension) grants, Congressional Records, state land grants, State Archives, Colonial and Revolutionary and Historical works, and in some instances county histories.
