Description
This book has been a life-long passion of the author taking over 25 years to research, compile and record fly tying books from around the world. In it you will find references to over 1700+ books which provide a synopsis of fly tying techniques, patterns and materials since the publication of the book by the credited Dame Juliana Berners – Treatise on Fishing with an Angle up to the present day 2024.
The author’s love of fishing is steeped in the genetics of family history, with a family member who caught a record chub weighing 6lb 12ozs from the River Severn at Stourport in 1899. That inspiration continued for several generations and resulted in the author’s interest of fishing from early childhood. This has taken him to places as far afield as Alaska, Montana, The Bahamas, Cuba, Slovenia, Norway and Switzerland.
In recent years encouraged by being a member of the Wey Valley and Surrey branches of the Fly Dressers Guild and of course knowing Peter Cockwill, it kindled a latent and great interest in fly tying.
