Description
Selim Lemström, professor of physics at Helsingfors and a student of the aurora, came to suspect that the vigour of plants in the short Lapland summer owed something to atmospheric electricity. In these experiments he stretched charged wires over cereal and vegetable plots and measured the yield against control fields — the founding work of what was later called electroculture. With the full table of results. This is a faithful print-on-demand facsimile of the 1890 edition, reproduced in full from a library copy. The historical text is reproduced without modification; only the format, margins and legibility have been reset for modern printing.
