Description
Exercise Tiger became a disaster involving the deaths of many participating American soldiers and sailors, and the most controversial element of this notorious wartime tragedy is the true number of those casualties.
Theories of casualty numbers from vociferous ?experts? all fail basic scrutiny, their proponents falling back upon the excuse of a cover-up or the ?fog of war? to explain their inability to fill the gaps and shortcomings of their arguments.
Most commentators of Exercise Tiger concentrate on the German E-Boat ambush of convoy T-4 but then omit the additional 198 U.S. Navy casualties. They have failed to look deeper into the whole exercise for doing so has proved there were two incidents that inflicted casualties during this exercise. The sinking of two LSTs but also something that happened the day before on 27th April 1944.
Based upon detailed analysis of existing records and with exclusive access to unique private documents this is a part-dramatisation of actual events and recollections of those that were part of the event and following actions.
