Schonbrunn, an imperial palace a few miles from Vienna, built by Maria Theresa in 1744. The palace is generally inhabited by the imperial family during the summer months. It was here that the Peace of Vienna was signed, Oct. 14, 1809. See also concordat, Vol. VI, p. 241.
