Description
Berger'', who has discussed the matter with much thoroughness, considers that the basis of our present epistle was the address of St Paul to the church of Antioch in Pisidia, and that this was commented on by some friend or disciple and gradually expanded into the book before us. This opinion may appear to derive some support from the language of one of the greatest commentators2 on the epistle but is really quite untenable.
