Die Gegner zur Rechten rechnen es sich zum Ruhme an, dass bei ihnen das Lehrgesetz viel umfangreicher ist, zum mindesten alles im Neuen Testament über Jesus Be richtete und Gelehrte umfasst. Dadurch wird freilich der gesetzliche Charakter der Frömmigkeit noch schärfer aus geprägt. Das Sonderbarste dabei ist, dass sie den Menschen, damit sie Christen würden, gerade die Lehre des Apostels zum Gesetze machen, der so heiss für die Erkenntnis ge stritten hat, dass es kein Gesetz gebe, das da könnte lebendig machen. Sie meinen offenbar, das von ihnen auf solche Weise aufgedchtete Lehrgesetz'' sei kein Gesetz mehr, wenn es „evangelium genannt werde.
