Excerpt from Der Optativ bei Polybius und Philo von Alexandria
Die folgende Untersuchung wurde im Herbst 1901 der philo sophischen Fakultat zu Tübingen, die damals den Druck der Disser tationen noch nicht verlangte, als Promotionsarbeit vorgelegt und angenommen. Aeussere Gründe veranlassten mich zunächst, von einer Veröffentlichung der Arbeit Abstand zu nehmen. Inzwischen ist die Dissertation in einer ähnlichen Abhandlung Rudolf Kapfi'', Der Gebrauch des Optativus bei Diodorus Siculus und auch sonst bei wissenschaftlichen Untersuchungen benützt worden; ich habe mich deshalb entschlossen, die Arbeit noch nachträglich in anver änderter Form drucken zu lassen, um so vor allem auch das ge sammelte Material allgemein zugänglich zu machen.
