Henry Wagman came of good old New England stock. His grandparents removed to the borders of Fish Creek (the outlet of Lake Saratoga) previous to the Revolutionary war; and often have they related to their grandson - When, as a boy, he sat on a winter''s night in the old farmhouse while the ?ames went roaring up the huge chimney, and the lire-light merrily played among the ?itches of bacon hanging from the smoked rafters overhead - the adventures and sufferings endured by the early settlers.
