Description
The individuals who make up the Bantu group vary in colour from light bronze to deep black. Some have features of the lowest negro type: thick projecting lips, broad ?at noses, and narrow receding foreheads while others are almost Asiatic in appearance, with prominent and in rare instances even aquiline noses, broad upright foreheads, and lips but little thicker than those of Europeans. Among the southern tribes these extremes may sometimes be noticed in the same village, but the great majority of the people are of a type higher than a mean between the two.
