Die Organe der hohem Pflanzen bestehen anfänglich aus einem Gewebe, dessen Zellen in Vermehrung begriffen sind, indem sie sich wiederholt theilen. Dann hört die Zellenbildung in einzelnen Partien auf, Während sie in andern fort dauert. Wir haben sonach zweierlei Gewebe. Das Erstere wird gewöhnlich als Bildung 5 ge webe bezeichnet man könnte es, um seine Natur genauer auszu drücken, auch Theilungsgewebe nennen. Das Zweite, dessen Zellen ich früher als Dauerzellen unterschieden habe, ist sonach Dauergewebe und ich will mich dieses Ausdruckes bedienen, obgleich er vielleicht passender den Gegensatz zu transitorischem Gewebe bilden, und für das fertige, sich nicht mehr veran dernde Gewebe durch Standgewebe ersetzt würde.
