An manchen Stellen hatte ich den Eindruck, daß ich das Buch zu früh schriebe, daß ich vieles mit größerer Sicherheit und mit besserem Gewissen darstellen könnte, wenn ich die Nieder schrift nur noch um ein Jahr hinausgeschoben hatte. In der'' Tat sehe ich heute bei Beendigung der Drucklegung in manchen Punkten schon klarer als bei Beginn derselben. Ich mußte mir aber sagen, daß der Sache mehr gesc_hadet wird, wenn das Buch zu spat, als wenn es zu fruh kommt.
