Insofar as the physical property is con cerned there can be no question as to the ability Of the Canadian Northern to meet com petition, as the railway is well located and well built; its transcontinental main line grades over practically its entire route are the most favourable in existence; and under a normally developed traffic density the railway should Operate at a ratio previously unknown, and at enormous profit.
These remarks, occurring as they do in a summary of the whole situation, afforded considerable satisfaction to your Directors, as it is a clear endorsement by unquestion ably high financial experts, Of the deliberate policy of your Directors during the twenty odd years which have elapsed since the inception Of the Canadian Northern Railway lines.
