Description
Conditioned ammonium nitrate is now widely accepted by farmers and fertilizer manufacturers as a satisfactory source of fertilizer nitrogen. Although first introduced only in 1943, nearly tons were used in 1946 for agricultural purposes. There are several reasons for expecting that ammonium nitrate will continue to be an important factor in the fertilizer industry. Among these are its low cost, its high nitrogen content, the improved physical properties of the conditioned ammonium nitrate fertilizers, and the great potential capacity for production in various parts of the country.
