The two poles or conducting sur faces immersed ih the liquid of a plating bath are called the anode and the [cathode The anode is the pole at which the current enters the bath and the leathocle that at which it leaves. The liquid is called the electrolyte, and the operation ih cluded under the general head of electrolysis.
