In place of adopting, as is usual, the method of furnish ing a complete description of the bones, succeeded by an equally detailed account of the joints and muscles, I have incorporated them in the description of regions. As each region - a limb for instance - is considered, its bones, joints, and muscles are described in so far as they have special reference to the moulding of ''the surface forms. In this way it is hoped that the student may attain a better grasp of the subject than by the study of isolated descriptions of the various structures involved.
