In the present state of geological science, a mineralogist could hardly employ himself better, than in traversing those ambiguous countries where so much has been ascribed to the antient opera. Tiou of volcanic tire, and marking out what belongs clearly to the erupted or unempted lavas, and what parts are of doubtful for. Nation, containing''uo mark by which they may be referred to the one of these, more than to the other. Such a work would con tribute very materially to illustrate the Natural History of the Earth.
