Chersones, das sogenannte xuvö; einen (der Tumulus der Hundin) war, welches für das Grab der Hecuba angesehen wurde, die, der Sage zufolge, nach dem Tode in eine Hündin verwandelt worden ist. In der That sieht man, genau an der von Strabo bezeichneten Stelle, einen kleinen kegelförmigen Hügel; aber Frank Calvert, der ihn untersuchte, hat gefunden, dass er aus naturwüchsigem Fels besteht und nur die Gestalt eines Tu mulus hat.
