Von den zehn Faehgenossen, welche den Wasserbau in einem im Jahre 1879 erschienenen, damals einzigen Bande bearbeitet haben, ist nur die Hälfte noch am Leben, andere sind ausgetreten und auch der Unterzeichnete nimmt ''hiermit von den Lesern des Handbuchs Abschied. Dies geschieht mit dem Wunsche, dafs das Werk trotz fortwährenden Anwacheens den in der tech nischen Literatur erworbenen Platz auch in Zukunft behaupten möge.
