It has thus come about that many fresh-water anglers, who know only of the hand-lines, long-lines, trawls, and other contrivances used by fishermen, are inclined to regard the sea as the last place to visit for sport. This book will, I hope, show that angling of a superior kind is to be Obtained in the sea, and possibly in a few years the very limited number of persons who angle in salt water may be considerably increased.
