In his search for information the writer visited the Luiseno Indians thirty miles north Of Mesa Grande, and the Die guefios sixty miles south. The territory of these two tribes is separated by the San Luis Rey river in San Diego county. Only a few of the Oldest Indians, perhaps a dozen, were interviewed, and with the exception Of a few minor details the in formation given by them was practically identical.
