Description
Excerpt from The Kern Genealogy
A comparison of totals shows the rapid-increase o''f descendants. It also shows the utter impossibility of recording these descendants. (for, allowing names to a volume, it would require 140 volumes of 600 pages each. But granting that many inter-marriages occur, as they do, then there will be no less than different descendants. True, but it is a fact that the families actually averaged more than two sons and two daughters each who married and left descendants. As we have no means of following the families under other names than Kenn, for such fam ilies, we will again suppose but two sons and two daughters, as in above table. Under these conditions our table, as prepared below, by actual count for six generations, reveals that this world will never know in how many hearts Francis Xavier Kern has secretly written his name.
