Excerpt from Die Grundsätze der Heutigen Pandektenkritik: Geprüft an der Sogenannten Lex Gallus
Da ich nun felb? in meinen »kritifchen Studien: S. 14 24 mich mit obigem Fragment befchäftigt hatte, ohne, wie ich bald klar erkannte, irgend Nennenswerthes zu deffen Aufklärung beigetragen zu haben, wurde in mir ein lebhaftes Interefie an diefer Frage erweckt; und bald glaubte ich den Grund für die Vergeblichkeit aller feit herigen Erklärungsverfuche darin gefunden zu haben, dafs über ein Drittel des Textes der Florentina, den man bis auf Mommf en im Allgemeinen faft nur der Veränderung einzelner Worte bedürftig erachtete, aus Interpolationen bestehe, dagegen die durch Nachläff1gkeit des Abfchrei bers bedingten Fälfchungen verhältnifsmäfsig nur gering fügig feien.
